The Dilemma
Today we begin our study in the book of Job to discover the purpose of God in human suffering. We will realize the dilemma of life and how God responds to bring joy in the presence of pain. Flawed theologies will be challenged so that the confusion they cause can be removed. In this book, our need for relationship with God is clear and the coming of Christ Jesus is anticipated. Job begins to focus on the purpose, not the punishment, of God. We will be captured by the greatness of God to see how intimacy and healing can proceed from suffering. Suffering is temporal in the larger plan of God to embrace and transform us.
