Jesus takes his diciples aside to teach them truth that will change their lives (Luke 18:31 22:8) He used stories, object lessons, group discussions, and satire to impress the teaching in their minds and changing hearts.
The main point for us is that the disciples were willing to be called aside and learn from Jesus. Our resurrected Lord still calls his disciples, us, aside to learn the truth that will set us free. Jesus cautions us when we choose to follow him to consider the cost of being his disciples.
Are you willing to make time for Jesus to call you from the hurried life? Can you see this time as more than a discussion or a study group? It is time Jesus will spend with you that will bless your life and change your heart!
I am talking about life groups. On August 8 you will discover opportunities ranging from knowing who you are in Christ to how God is working in your life. I encourage you to join a life group to spend some learning time with Jesus.
I will be teaching "Fearless" on Wednesday nights to learn how the Bible instructs us to live without fear. (2 Timothy 1:7) Let God call you aside and give you the power to live the life God gives you.
